Salvation
What is meant by the word Salvation? In it's simple form the word means deliverance,or preservation. To be saved from destruction is another way to explain what salvation is. So why is this an important word?
Well, to begin with we first need to understand that the God who created heaven and earth also created mankind, that is to say you and I. That's right, we are created beings, not the result of millions of years of an evolutionary process. The very same God who created the world formed man from the dust of the earth and breathed in him the breath of life.
Just to think about God creating this world and all the beauty it entails is almost beyond the imagination Why did He do this, and why is He still creating life today? Because God desires to dwell with us,and us with Him. As incredible as creation is,He chose to save His ultimate achievement for last, which was man.
But because man disobeyed God in the garden of Eden sin entered into his heart. Sin is something that God will not allow to enter into the place He has prepared for us,therefore there would be no way for man to abide with God as long as sin remained in us. Yet all was not lost because God desired with all of His heart that we could spend eternity with Him in heaven,so He made a way for that to happen in spite of our sin.
Enter His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible says that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son,that whoever would believe on Him would have everlasting life. This is where salvation comes from. The Son of God,Jesus Christ, willingly became the ultimate sacrifice for all of mankind in that He willingly allowed Himself to be murdered upon a cruel cross for the sins of the entire world.
There was no other way to purchase our salvation. The only acceptable price for our salvation was the life blood of the Son of God. Our works and good deeds are as filthy rags according to scripture. We are powerless to save ourselves, nor can we ever be "good enough" on our own to merit salvation. It is the gift of God.
Are you in need of salvation today? If you have never asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins you are lost and destined to be eternally separated from the presence of God.You need this free gift of salvation that God is still offering to the world today. Won't you invite Jesus into your heart today?
May the Lord save you today is my prayer,
Brother Ron
